AMANDA + SCOTT
A RAIN KISSED COUNTRY ESTATE WEDDING
April 13, 2024 | Cavaignac Estate | Walnut Grove, CA
No two weddings are the same—but some are truly unforgettable.
Amanda and Scott are two bright and joyful spirits, who deserved nothing less than a perfect day full of fun and imagination. While original plans were coming together smoothly, they soon realized that managing vendors, design, and rentals… to name just a few… alongside their full-time careers as a nurse and teacher were way more than they wanted on their plates.
Cue team Goodstock! With just 5 months to go, their Lead Planner, Anna set to work- coordinating logistics and developing layouts, timelines, and a vision board to die for.
The setting: Cavaignac, a European inspired estate in the San Francisco Bay delta. The venue’s Chateau style farmhouse, tree-lined drive, lush lawns and Pinot Gris vineyards transport your senses to a time of old world elegance.
The design was incredibly intentional and 100% THEM. Inspired by their love of baseball, their youthful energy, the local art community, and all things colorful, Anna 100% understood the assignment: offbeat fun meets effortless elegance. A checkered dance floor and canopy lights set the stage, while origami florals, rainbow napkins, and textured glassware added dynamic vibrancy to the atmosphere. Yes, origami flowers! Each hand-folded lovingly by the wedding party, the intricate designs captured the couple’s playful spirits. Tying the ceremony space to the rest of the design, the arch was enveloped with multi-colored paper honeycombs for an extra touch of whimsy.
Dinner & drinks were just as fun! The perfect taco truck, Fuego Taqueria, offered classic Mexican fare, while Mobile Mixologist kept the party going with craft cocktails that incorporated Fuego’s horchata and pineapple soda. Dessert enthusiasts, the couple opted for a live churro station AND a 3’ tall pinata ‘wedding cake’, of which the couple took turns breaking open with baseball bats, a nod to Scott’s baseball history.
The weather, of course, threw its own curveball. On Monday of wedding week, April reminded us that while its showers can bring May flowers, it’s also just as unpredictable! The forecast shifted from glorious sunshine to chilly rain. We implemented plan B, adjusting the layout to move all festivities into a tent, and what was once an al fresco event became a cozy, tented celebration filled with warm charm.
Despite the last minute changes, Amanda and Scott were optimistic and flexible, a true illustration of the love and teamwork at the core of marriage. The day was filled with laughter, joy, and dancing, proving that even when things don’t go as planned, love is what makes it all come together.
Thanks to all our friendors who helped create such a magical experience!
